Derry - Derry - Richard Kibildis,
aged 78, a long-time resident of Derry, NH, passed away peacefully at his home
in Davie, FL, on Monday, June 2, 2025.
Born on February 11, 1947, to his beloved parents Walter and
Anna Kibildis. Richard grew up in Salem, New Hampshire, with his sister, Nancy,
and attended local schools. From a youthful age, he was affectionately known as
the "Poacher" due to his passion for hunting and fishing. A
courageous U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, Richard proudly served his country and
often spoke about his time in service and the camaraderie shared among his
fellow servicemen. In his early career, Richard worked as a skilled floor
tradesman specializing in tile and hardwood flooring at Medico Tile. In his
twenties, he decided to become a firefighter and dedicated 22 years to serving
the Derry community with the Fire Department. Richard fell in love with
Priscillia (Young) the moment he first met her, and they were married for 53
years. Together, they raised a family of eight children: Deborah, Joseph,
Cynthia, Joanne, Kimberly, Johnna, Jacquelyn, and Duane. He cherished cooking
large family dinners and was known for his playful tricks. The family expanded
with seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with Richard fondly
remembered as the beloved patriarch. He enjoyed hunting with friends, wandering
and spending time in the woods, tinkering in the garage, and collecting items
to rebuild or repair. Most days were spent visiting the VFW, Legion, and
Halcyon Clubs, where he would socialize with friends and play pull tabs, often
emerging victorious. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Priscillia
Kibildis; his daughter, Deborah Poisson and her husband, Paul, son, Joseph
Young, daughter, Cynthia Vaiani and long-time significant other, Kyle,
daughter, Joanne Purstell, daughter, Johnna Cambell and husband Derrick,
daughter Jacquelyn Rodriguez and husband Zenon, son Duane Vaiani and his wife,
Ofe; his grandchildren, Nicole and her fiancé Mark, Amanda and her husband,
Shawn, Joseph Jr., Justin, Ethan, Brooke, and Alek; and his
great-grandchildren, Damian, Devin, Alexis, Haley, and Mason. Rick's niece's
Terry Southwick and her husband, Dick, Donna, Sarah, and Rick's favorite
nephew, who was also one of his best friends, Michael Calland. Rick's
sisters-in-law, Mary DeStefano, Evelyn McDermott, and Catherine Campbell. He
was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Nancy Rochira, his daughter,
Kimberly, and many long-time friends.
His family cherishes the lifelong
lessons he imparted and the memories they shared.
